H. F. Hauff Company, Inc. is a family-owned business, started by our father and mother in 1965. Prior to this time, our parents had owned a successful farm implement business in Minnesota for over 18 years. They moved West to begin manufacturing and promoting the Victair Mistifier PTO concentrate sprayer.

Introduced to the wind machine business by Tropic Breeze; sales and service representatives through 1985.
The Victair Mistifier, manufactured since 1982, goes on to serve orchard, grove, vineyard, hop and berry growers in the U.S. and worldwide.
We begin manufacturing the Chinook Wind Machine, named for a warm tropical breeze, with outside gearbox experts, aeronautical engineers and fiberglass consultants.
The year 2025 marks our 60th year in business.

In 1969, we were introduced to the wind machine business by Tropic Breeze, (the first commercial wind machine manufacturer starting in 1937) of which we continued as sales and service representatives thru 1985. In 1986, we began manufacturing the Chinook Wind Machine with the help and expertise from several outside professionals to do our gearboxes; aeronautical engineers to research the most recent airfoil designs and advanced airfoils; and proprietary fiberglass consultants to develop our fan prop using the latest manufacturing techniques.
Chinook means a warm tropical breeze.

We have continued to engineer and develop a full line of orchard spray equipment; including individually customized pesticide sprayers, 3 pt sprayers, trail tank sprayers, weed booms, and, most recently, the Spray X2, a complete 2 row air-blast vineyard sprayer. In addition, we have designed, engineered, and supplied the proper pump and power plant equipment for many irrigation projects.
Our father always seemed to be on the cutting edge of the newest technology of its day; i.e. plastic pipe, concentrate spraying, frost protection using wind machines; which today are all commonplace. Our parents had a very strong work ethic, a deep passion for their products and a strong commitment to their customers. They loved what they did and instilled those same ideals and values to my brother and myself.
Today the company is run by brothers Dean (UW, business and finance) and Neil (UW, mechanical engineering).

Today we operate out of a 42,000 sq ft facility on 6 acres, selling our machinery around the world. The year 2025 will mark our 60th year in business. Thanks to all of our customers past, present and future that have made this happen.
